Inquisitor Alba Shaw serves Ordo Time Linaris, a secret Ordo devoted to hunting temporal anomalies, paradoxes, and threats capable of maiming the very course of history. Since then, the sickness has continued to slowly devour her body, while Alba’s past has crumbled into fragments: the archives were destroyed, sealed away, or warped by temporal distortions, and even she remembers only shards of her own life. Formally, she is nearly three hundred years old, but within the Temporal Labyrinth — an anomaly existing outside the normal flow of time — her curse stopped progressing for the first time. Now the investigation of Mastermind’s laboratory has become more than an assignment of the Ordo for Alba; it is a personal crusade.
